Dear Members,
You are warmly invited to the BKA Iaido National Championships 2022.
We apologise for the late notice of the event. Unfortunately, sourcing a venue post Covid has
been a challenge but we have now sourced a suitable venue and look forward to running a
successful and well attended event. This year the Iaido Nationals is to be held at Trinity Academy in Doncaster.
The morning will start with the Individual event with pool & knockout stages from Mudan to
Rokudan. The final event will be the Team Taikai with 3 players per team and a maximum of 10
Dans total per team (Mudan/Ikkyu counting as one Dan). As per previous years each Dojo may
put forward as many teams as they wish.
The competition will begin promptly at 9:30am (Registration at 9:00) so please make sure anyone attending from your Dojo is familiar with the format as there will be no demonstration beforehand.
Please bring a packed lunch and water, there is an area outside of the competition hall where food can be eaten but please be aware that lunch is not scheduled.
If you do not have a team, please do come along as there will be provisions for mixing and matching members of different dojo within the 10 Dan limit. Additionally if there are members in your dojo who have not taken part in a Taikai before, please encourage them to come along as the Nationals is a prime event for testing yourself under different conditions and for watching practice.
