Wakaba Kendo Club Junior Shiai/Practice event.

Wakaba Kendo Club is organising a shiai/ joint practice event on Saturday 27th September 2025, 12:00-18:00 in the main sports hall on the first floor of Britannia Leisure Centre (https://www.better.org.uk/leisure-centre/london/hackney/britannia-leisure-centre).

The event is open to juniors aged 6 – 17 years old separated into Non-armour (with no age category) and Armour categories ( we will have the age category once we know the number of juniors attending). Shiai will be individual matches in “Round Robin” format. 

Non armour participants will be required to perform basic strikes: Men, Kote and Do, as well as Kirikaeshi against Motodachi.

There will be a registration fee of £5 per person.

Finally, a request to Dojo Leaders: while we will have senior members supporting and ensuring safety of junior competitors, could each Dojo carry out Shinai check of their junior members?
