I have great pleasure to announce Mr Joe Willmott as the regional junior coach for Northern England.
Joe is a teacher by profession and brings a calm, structured and professional approach to the project and I am sure he will excel in the role. Based in Liverpool, he regularly attends seminars and gradings and is very much in touch with the needs of coaching at junior level.

As with David Bryce, Joe will start by liaising with dojo in the region and organise six specific junior sessions per year as well as monitoring progress with dojo leaders and providing help and support where necessary.
The introduction of the budget for these sessions has been welcomed by many and all will be free of charge to attendees. Also, food/drink will be provided for juniors and parents.

As with other coaches, part of the job is to liaise with colleges and Universities to provide help and support and to actively encourage students to continue kendo without interrupting studies, hopefully filling the void we currently experience.

Further information will be distributed to dojo leaders with contact details for Joe.
Further regional projects will be announced shortly.

If there any questions/suggestions please contact me, Malcolm Goodwin.
