Dear Jodobu Members,
We would like to invite you to the BKA Jodo Kangeiko 2026, hosted with the help of Kenmukan dojo. The
event will be held at Millmead Hall, Wolverton on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th January. This year we will
also include a grading up to and including Yondan.
Kangeiko (cold training) or Hatsugeiko (start training) is usually the first training session of the year and
is marked by vigorous practice to stave off the cold. The programme for Sunday is a bit more varied as
the intention is to offer a short refereeing workshop covering the chakuganten and also how to make
sure you achieve these points before concluding the day with Koryu practice in groups.
As usual, to bring in the new year with a drive for better health and waistlines, we invite you to bring
your own home-made cakes to make any tsuki targets a little more prominent!
