Iaido Squad Manager appointment and recent news

Dear Iaidobu members,

The European Iaido Championships last weekend was a resounding success with a well-run seminar delivered by 8^th dan teachers Yamazaki Sensei and Kumeda Sensei. The UK squad achieved a fighting spirit prize via 5^th dan competitor Kevin McNeill, well done Kev!

We also had some success in the dan exams and I would like to offer my congratulations to the following candidates who passed:

• Luca Affuso-Price – 1^st dan
• Jo Yang – 2^nd dan
• John Honisz-Greens – 7^th dan

With this being Colin Porter’s event to step down from the role of Squad Manager, the IaidoBu EC have decided to appoint Kevin McNeill as the new Squad Manager. Kevin will be working with Martin Clark (Squad Trainer) and me to start the ball rolling for Intensive Training and Squad Development in the new year.
