Kashi No Ki Kenyu Kai is proud to once again host another seminar by esteemed kendo 8th Dan (kyoshi) Hiroshi Ozawa, author of the ‘Kendo: The Definitive Guide’.

For 2018, we have arranged a two-day seminar that will include free entry to a kata taikai for those who wishes to take part.

Ozawa sensei is part of a highly respected Kendo family in Japan, who were instrumental in incorporating Kendo into the Physical Education curriculum as a core subject in Japanese schools. Ozawa sensei has also made many trips to different countries across the world to demonstrate and teach Kendo.

Those of you who are interested in coming to the seminar will be required to attend both days to experience the maximum benefit from the seminar content and Ozawa sensei’s teaching.

The seminar will start promptly on Saturday at 11.00am until 5.00pm and again on Sunday from 11.00am until 5.00pm. An additional pre-seminar practice on Friday 23rd March has also been arranged from 8pm-9.30pm at the same venue – space is limited and only available to those attending the weekend seminar.

Once again this year we will be holding the Kata Taikai over the weekend of the seminar, which will consist of the following four categories:

  • Junior: Bokato kihon kiako ho kata
  • Adult: Kendo no kata
  • Ikkyu to Shodan
  • Nidan to Sandan
  • Yondan to Godan
